Following my first topic on this subject last December, here are some more News concerning AF operations and fleet for the next summer season 2006 starting end of March.
Europe & North Africa
New destinations :
EREVAN (EVN - Armenia) - 3 x Weekly A320.
LEIPZIG (LEJ - Germany) - 2 x Daily (ERJ145 Regional Airlines)
KATOWICE (KTW - Poland) - 3 x Daily weekdays (1 x Daily on Sat, 2 x Daily on Sun.) CRJ Brit'Air
New frequencies :
TLV : 2 x DAILY A320 (with a night stop and an early departure from TLV)
KBP : 2 x DAILY (3 x DAILY if you include the codeshare with Air Ukraine)
ATH : 5 x DAILY
OPO : 4 x DAILY - All flights operated by AF's partner Porugalia in codeshare
ZAG : 2 x DAILY operated by Regional (with a night stop)
VLC : 2 x DAILY & AGP 3 x DAILY, all flights are now operated by AF's partner Air Europa in codeshare.
EIN : 3 x DAILY
ALG : 3rd DAILY flight from/to CDG (the 2 other DAILY flights remain from/to ORY)
GVA : The 11th DAILY frequency introduced this winter will continue during the summer.
RAK : 2 x DAILY from ORY
ORY -> LCY : a 7th DAILY frequency is added.
Additional frequencies will be provided to TUN, CMN, RBA, IST, LIS, & NAP from mid-july to the end of August.
Long Haul
The second DAILY flight to MEX (A343) and IAH (A332) are confirmed.
The second frequency should continue during the next winter program (5 x Weekly).
SSG : + 2 Weekly flights = 4 x Weekly A319ER Dedicate
NKC : + 1 Weekly = 6 x Weekly A319ER Dedicate
CKY : 4 x Weekly A332 nonstop both ways
BGF : The weekly flight becomes nonstop both ways
NDJ : 5 x Weekly (4 x A319ER Dedicate + 1 x A332)
DXB : + 1 x Weekly = 13 x Weekly (B772ER + A332)
THR : + 2 x Weekly = 1 x DAILY (A332)
BEY : B773ER Daily
LAX : 17 x Weekly (DAILY B773ER + DAILY B772ER + 3 x Weekly B744)
SEL : B773ER Daily
PVG : 10 x Weekly (B772ER)
For the low summer season, SCL will be served via EZE (DAILY) but the very successful nonstop CDG-SCL relaunched this winter will be resumed next winter 2006/2007.
The B773ER will be largely deployed in Asia, serving NRT, KIX, SIN, SEL, HKG & PEK.
All the A343 fleet is now reconfigured with the new seats in two different versions :
12 a/c = 36J/236Y
8 a/c = 30J/261Y
10 A332 (out of a total of 16) are reconfigured 40J/179Y
14 B744 (out of a total of 16) are reconfigured ( 5 a/c = 17J/457Y, 9 a/c = 40J/393Y). The two last a/c (ex-Combi) will not be reconfigured with the new seats as they are due to be converted into all Freighters next year.
The first B772ER (out of 25) has been reconfigured 4P/49J/211Y with a second generation of the new Business & First class seat.
The 4 B743 based at ORY should all be retired next summer.
The first B773ER in a two Class high density config., to be used on the Caribbean/Indian Ocean network will join the fleet next june.
It will start to operate ORY-PTP on june 12th (one of the two DAILY flights) and ORY-FDF on June 19th. Those two destinations will be completely served by the B773ER starting August 2006 (2 x Daily to both PTP & FDF)
A total of 7 B773ER (Config : 14J/36S/422M) will be used on this network to replace the 4 B743 and 2 B744.
5 additional B773ER will be delivered from May 2007.
AF will then operate 24 B773ER + 25 B772ER.
