[Information For Normal Passports]
Passport required.
- Passport and/or passport replacing documents must be valid
for the period of intended stay.
Passport Exemptions:
- Holders of German identity document Kinderausweis, issued
to minors up to/incl. 15 years of age. If being under 10
years of age, the document does not contain a photo of the
child.
- Holders of emergency or temporary passports.
- Holders of a "Laissez-Passer" issued by Brazil.
Visa required, except for A max. stay of 90 days:
- for holders of normal, emergency or temporary passports
issued to nationals of Germany;
Minors:
- WARNING! In accordance with European Union (EU) Legislation,
all minors who are nationals of Germany will be expected to
hold their own passport or National ID Card (where
applicable) when departing from Bulgaria, Cyprus, Romania or
a Schengen Member State [[TIRGL/SCHN]].
- Foreign nationals under 18 years of age, traveling alone
[[TIDFT/BR/VI/MI/ID46520]]
- exempt are holders of a Brazilian visa.
Additional Information:
- The validity of long term (1,3 and 5 years) tourist and
business visas starts on the day of issuance.
- Extension of stay possible for those who are visa exempt.
- Visitors are required to hold proof of sufficient funds to
cover their stay and documents required for their next
destination.
- A max. of 90 days is granted within a 180 day period to
holders of normal passports issued to nationals of Germany.
Warning:
- Visitors not holding return/onward ticket could be refused
entry.

Vaccinations not required.
Recommended:
- Vaccination against Yellow Fever (10 days prior to travel
date) for all passengers over 9 months of age visiting areas
where transmission risk exists, including rural areas in:
Acre, Amap, Amazonas, Distrito Federal (incl. the capital
city of Brasilia), Gois, Maranho, Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso
do Sul, Minas Gerais, Par and Rondnia States, Roraima,
Tocantins, and to other state areas where transmission risk
exists including all the states of Minas Gerais and specific
areas of Bahia, Espirito Santo, Paran, Piaui, Rio Grande so
Sul, Santa Catarina and So Paulo states. Vaccination is
also recommended for travellers visiting Iguazu Falls.

Malaria prophylaxis. Malaria risk - P. vivax (84%) and P.
falciparum (15%) - is present in most forested areas below
900 m. within the nine states of the "Legal Amazonia" region
(Acre, Amap, Amazonas, Maranho (western part), Mato Grosso
(northern part), Par (except Belm City), Rondnia, Roraima
and Tocantins (western part)).
Transmission intensity varies from one municipality to
another, and is higher in jungle mining areas, in
agricultural settlements less than 5 years old and in some
peripheral urban areas of Cruzeiro do Sul, Manaus and Prto
Velho. Malaria also occurs on the periphery of large cities
such as Boa Vista, Macap, Maraba, Rio Branco and Santarm.
Multidrug-resistant P. falciparum reported. P. vivax
resistance to chloroquine reported.
