New carrier muscles in with Persian Gulf services
Deputy Prime Minister Mark Vaile will announce the four-year-old airline's entry to the Australian market.
Etihad is the national airline of the United Arab Emirates and will join another aggressive UAE carrier, Emirates, on the Australian route. Etihad is yet to decide which Australian cities it will target.
It has built a solid reputation since 2003 and provides services to 36 countries from its base in Abu Dhabi.
