Air China Cargo begins direct all-cargo route to Copenhagen

Copenhagen Airport now has a direct all-cargo route to China, with Air China Cargo’s new thrice-weekly operations on the Shanghai-Beijing-Copenhagen-Shanghai route.

(9/25/2006)
The service uses Boeing 747-200 all-cargo planes.
Copenhagen is Air China Cargo's second destination in Europe.
The number of all-cargo routes from Copenhagen to Asian destinations has risen sharply in recent years: Boeing 747 cargo planes currently fly to Singapore and Seoul ten times a week
Copenhagen Airport is focusing on efforts to attract new airlines to reinforce its position as a northern European cargo hub. Part of this strategy includes a 3% reduction in take-off charges and a cap on all-cargo operations – which means that all-cargo flights pay a charge on the take-off weight up to but not over 200 tonnes.

There has been much speculation on this board about where Delta Air Lines will be expanding next summer. Tomorrow they will announce service to six new destinations. Air China
--------

Will begin services PEK-MAD-GRU effective December 10 with Boeing 767-300ER with 10F 26C 189Y, with two weekly flights. Air China receives rights for MAD-GRU-MAD leg.

CA907 - Sunday / Thursday
PEK 0100 MAD 0645 0815 GRU 1605 (same day)

CA908 - Sunday / Thursday
GRU 2045 MAD 0955 (+1) 1135 PEK 0635 (+2)

First service between continental Asia and Brazil. EK and others comment "they could fly...", Air China comes first... "we will fly".

Seems to be a little uncomfortable the stop at MAD and the high density on their 767, but i don't have idea about the level of comfort on such plane.

Aero Mexico
-----------

Will add two additional flights between Mexico and Sao Paulo effective November 21st. The new flights will be operated with Boeing 767-200 as follows:

AM016 MEX 1030 GRU 0015 B762 - Tuesday / Saturday

AM017 GRU 0700 MEX 1240 B762 - Wednesday / Sunday

Times are not so good for connections, and despite their opinion that GIG is not a good option, seems it gonna be better than this schedule. It could be a problem of lack of plane to run a better time.

Varig
-----

Announced yesterday they will as soon as they get the airline certification from ANAC, return to JFK, MIA, LHR, LIM, SCL, MEX as well as domestic destinations like NAT, IGU, VIX, CNF, PFB among others. To run these flights, 14 B733 are ready to fly waiting for the approval from ANAC. For the international flights, seems that one more M11 will be added soon to the fleet, and Varig keep negotiations with AC to obtain some 767-300ER.

Also, Varig confirms that they will buy some EMB-195 from Embraer with PTV and leather seats. A big improvement for their domestic network.

Tam
----

Received back from Etihad their 10th A332 (the last one of four leased to the middle-east airline during some years). With this one they will be in condition to begin next week their LHR daily flight.

Also, received another A320, PR-MBH, last one powered with IAE engines.

During the next weeks Tam is expected to announce new international flights (GIG-MIA and/or GIG-CDG expected).

Gol
---

Gol will announce they will, effective Dec, 15, able to run the shuttle service Rio-Sao Paulo with their brand new Boeing 737-800 SFP. SDU although it's very short runway, it's considered nowadays the best runway in Brazil. The 738 is expected to be used on rush hours (Sunday night, Monday morning, Friday night and Saturday morning) as well as when demand justifies it's use.

Gol will also announce very soon the first flight from Cabo Frio (close to Buzios). It will be a Cabo Frio-Buenos Aires weekend only flight (Saturday and Sundays). During the other week days, will fly GIG-EZE.

WebJet
-------

The newest airline will add a second and a third aircraft to it's fleet (both Boeing 737-300 ex-RG). Routes will include GIG-BSB and GIG-CWB (Aircraft # 2) and GIG-CNF, POA-CWB and GIG-POA (Aircraft # 3).

Ocean Air
---------

The airline from Mr. Efromovich is leasing a Boeing 767-300ER (lessor not confirmed yet), hiring the necessary staff and doing the steps to fly with them to the US. Probably LAX will be announced very soon.

Jade Cargo International will inaugurate cargo service from Shenzhen to Brescia and Barcelona on Nov 24th. The airline will operate 3 flights a week using the soon to be delivered 2nd B747-400ERF.
