Cirrus Airlines: Auch sonntags ab Dresden nach Zürich
Der unabhängige Regional Carrier Cirrus Airlines (Iata-Code C9) verdichtet das Flugangebot zwischen Dresden und Zürich: Ab dem 2. April gibt es auch sonntags einen Abendflug zwischen den beiden Städten. Auf der seit zwei Jahren beflogenen Verbindung verkehrt montags bis freitags eine 31-sitzige Dornier Do-328 im so genannten doppelten Tagesrand morgens und abends in beide Richtungen.

August wird die Strecke an drei Tagen die Woche angeflogen. Jeweils freitags, samstags und sonntags geht es um 12.30 Uhr ab Billund. Der Rückflug startet freitags um 13.55 Uhr und am Wochenende jeweils um 15 Uhr.

I just saw on the news an article regarding Conviasa's new CCS-MAD service code-shared with Air Europa.
What caught my attention is that they "will start flying from PMV to MAD next July with a direct flight every Monday"
I must say I'm impressed. Now, I am a bit puzzled here. I heard some time ago that Conviasa had bought (cash) an A342 which is not impressive for obvious reasons
, so, where is this aricraft??? As far as I know, They're using an Air Europa A342... So, if this aircraft doesn't exist yet, then will Air Europa fly to PMV?

Korean Air to launch service to Kenya this month SEOUL, April 3 (Yonhap) -- South Korea's top flag carrier Korean Air said Monday it will begin service this month to Kenya, a major tourist destination on the African continent, through a partnership agreement.
The company, through a code sharing agreement with Air Kenya, will commence a route connecting Incheon, Bangkok and the Kenyan capital of Nairobi, starting April 20. Flights will depart from Incheon International Airport three times a week.

Air New Zealand announces second London service via Asia
Air New Zealand today announced plans to launch a second daily service between Auckland and London flying via Hong Kong to London Heathrow Airport.
Commencing on 28 October 2006, the second service doubles Air New Zealand’s current capacity between New Zealand and the United Kingdom.
“Demand for travel between the United Kingdom and New Zealand has grown significantly since we first launched a daily service in 1998, with annual arrivals to New Zealand increasing by more than 10 percent on average,” said Air New Zealand Group General Manager International Airlines, Ed Sims.
“Over this time we have invested heavily to promote New Zealand as a destination, and this year, we will be increasing our current advertising and promotional spend by 50 percent in the United Kingdom and Europe markets to ensure we drive further growth,” he said.
“The additional capacity will leave us better placed to take advantage of the demand we have created, especially during peak seasons when our flights are 90 to 100 percent full. More excitingly, we can stimulate new demand with higher frequency and new routing options, including the world’s only current round-the-world service on one airline.
“We will also be the only Star Alliance carrier to operate between Hong Kong and London, which is fantastic news for our Star partners and customers,” said Mr Sims.
Air New Zealand will operate the route utilising newly refurbished Boeing 747-400 aircraft. The 393-seat aircraft includes 46 lie-flat Business Premier seats, 23 Pacific Premium Economy seats and 324 seats in Pacific Economy.
Mr Sims said Air New Zealand’s research has found New Zealanders prefer to fly their national carrier to and from United Kingdom.
“Kiwis have recognised that one of the world’s longest journeys is more enjoyable on our new long-haul service featuring lie-flat beds in Business Premier, extra comfort and legroom in Pacific Premium Economy, and on-demand digital video entertainment and more personal space in every seat,” he said.
Air New Zealand will operate the following schedule, subject to timeslot, capacity and regulatory approvals:

Finnair launches flights to Kuala Lumpur
Finnair is opening yet another destination in Asia when flights from Helsinki to Malaysian capital Kuala Lumpur begin in May 2007. The route will be operated three times a week via Bangkok.
"As a thriving business city and breathtaking leisure destination, Kuala Lumpur naturally complements our Asian strategy. Demand for Asian destinations is growing in both directions and we have excellent connections from all over Europe. It is our goal to open one to two new Asian connections each year and add frequencies to our current network," highlights Finnair SVP Commercial Division Mika Perho.
Malaysia's economy is one of the fastest growing in Southeast Asia and hundreds of European companies are already present in the country. Kuala Lumpur is the hub of local business life with its viable infrastructure, good regional flight network and motorways to different parts of the Malay Peninsula.
Sight-seeing and climate-wise, Malaysia is equivalent to neighbouring Thailand as a travel destination. Kuala Lumpur is a modern city with almost a million and a half inhabitants and offers excellent shopping opportunities both in modern shopping centres and on smaller shopping alleys and streets. Neben KL möchte Finnair auch bald Nagoya bedienen!

Bedarf ist relativ und hats immer gegeben. Nur halt nicht genügend Bedarf in First und Business..., nicht vergessen.
EK operiert unter ganz anderen Vorzeichen und vor allem anderen Kosten.

Aber trotzdem wird die Lufthansa langsam aber sicher rund um Frankfurt eingekreist. Emirates hat einen guten Namen und kann der Lufthansa in Hamburg schon mehr Paxe wie eine Continental mit B757 wegnehmen.
Außerdem ist eine B777-300ER zweimal täglich in Hamburg wirklich nicht zu verachten. In der Tat ist bei vielen Airlines zu beobachten das sie mehr und mehr in die Breite gehen. Dies kann man in Italien, Frankreich, Spanien und UK gut beobachten. Mittlerweile setzt dieser Trend auch in Deutschland ein. Frankfurt wird dies nicht so sehr spüren, jedoch München was Langstrecke anbetrifft. Und ich denke hier nicht nur an Airlines aus USA (CO, DL), sondern auch zunehmend Airlines aus Asien (EK, QR, CA, IR, ME usw..). Zudem gibts neue Airlines die ebenfalls auf den Markt drängen und sich gegen Frankfurt und München entscheiden.
In den nächsten Jahren wird falls sich LTU erholt einiges Neues auf Langstrecke der Lufthansa entgegengesetzt. Wenn dann die Märkte (FRA+MUC) nicht gut besetzt sind fliegen die Paxe mit anderen Airlines.
Diese Flüge dürften sich auch nachteilig auf die Strecke HAM-FRA bei Lufthansa auswirken. Da kann man die A300-600R auf dieser Strecke ja dann nach München verlegen.
