Inter Airlines Press and Public Relations Director Müjdat Göktas told a press conference in Adana on Sunday that the company will introduce round trip flights from Adana to the Turkish cities of Gaziantep, Istanbul, Ankara, Antalya, Bodrum, and Izmir.
The company had previously been offering round trip flights to European countries. Göktas said that initially, they would offer flights from Adana to Antalya four times a week and to Izmir and Bodrum two times a week.
Director Göktas said that they have no intention of competing with the state-run Turkish Airlines or any other private airline company but intend to provide services to customers who want to avoid long and exhausting bus journeys.
The bust trip from Adana to Istanbul takes nearly 18 hours while the trip from Adana to Izmir takes nearly 10 hours by bus.
Göktas said that Inter Airlines has been flying to European countries especially Holland and Germany. It carries tourists and cargo.
Inter Airline company aims to attract nearly 500 thousand passengers for 2004. Göktas said that they would like to increase the number to two million passengers.
